dlogify docs

Email

Ticket emails and digest emails.

This page shows what dlogify's emails look like and who receives them.

Who receives email

An email channel belongs to one member of the organization. dlogify sends to the member's current address, and only while it is verified. Removing the member from the organization deletes their email channels. To add one, open Channels in the project, choose Add channel, then Email, and pick the member.

Ticket email

Sent at once for critical and high tickets. The subject has the form:

[Logify][CRITICAL] checkout: Payment provider timeout after 3 retries

The body carries the whole ticket: summary, probable cause, suggested fix, the facts, the stack trace and the surrounding log lines. Open in Logify takes you to the ticket's page in the dashboard. Emails come in plain text and HTML; the HTML loads no images or external resources.

Digest email

Sent on the project's digest schedule. The subject counts the tickets:

[Logify] Digest for checkout: 12 tickets

or reads [Logify] Digest for checkout when the digest only has INFO activity. The body shows the period in the project's timezone, and then:

  • Up to 50 tickets, medium before low and newest first, each with a link to its page; a final line links to the project's tickets when there are more.
  • The INFO totals of the period and the latest INFO summary, with a link to View INFO summaries.
  • The project's channels that are failing, if any (name, type and since when).

A digest that would be empty is not sent.
